You should have read through Chapter 5 in The Great Gatsby before class today.
Sit together in pairs.
We will review directions for today's class work as a group.
Work in pairs on the following assignment:
Assignment Instructions: Discuss the scenario below in your pair and together, sketch out a script of how the scene might play out if it were you. Use the front and back of your paper for scripting. You will hand it in at the end of class.
Pairs will each read/perform their scripts for the class. You have 10-15 minutes to prepare…”scenes” should be no longer than 2 minutes.
One person will take Gatsby’s point of view (1)…the other will take Daisy’s (2)…as below
It’s the day that Daisy comes to tea.
(Person 1) If YOU were in Gatsby’s place, what would you say? What would you do? You have been waiting for this day for five years. How would you feel?
(Person 2) If YOU were in Daisy’s place, what would you say? What would you do? You just found out that the man you once loved…maybe even still love, has been living just across the bay. How would you feel?
