(1) In what ways are George Wilson and Jay Gatsby similar or dissimilar? (Remember what their lives were like…making a list of the facts might help you get started.)
(2) How are the following items connected to the story/why are they significant? Gatsby’s beautiful yellow car, the eyes of Dr. Eckleburg and the swimming pool.
(3) Wilson probably shot Gatsby without ever speaking to him. However, if you could imagine that they DID have a conversation before the murder, what might they have said? Work in your pair to come up with a brief scenario to share with the class.
(4) After everything that has happened, how do you think Nick would contrast the West with the East compared to how he perceived these two places before meeting Gatsby?
(5) Why does Nick move back to Minnesota?
